Use the installation worksheets to record DNS-registered host names, database names, IP addresses, ports to open, credentials, and other information. Each of the proxy servers must have a loopback address using the same IP address, so they can accept unmodified packets from the Load Balancer server. When you deploy IBM® Load Balancer in front of two or more IBM WebSphere® proxy servers, client requests are directed to Load Balancer using its cluster IP address.

MAC forwarding is the most basic and efficient load balancing method. Set up a Media Access Control (MAC)-forwarding load balancer in a Sametime® Gateway cluster to distribute requests.

IBM® Sametime® consists of a variety of servers and clients, and can be deployed to suit many different environments.
